A few days ago, the State Food and Drug Administration organized a special sampling inspection of illegal dyeing of Chinese Herbal Medicine Pieces. A total of 397 batches of samples were sampled for the special sampling inspection. The inspection confirmed that there were 22 dyeing problems. According to the special action plan for the "two dozens and two constructions" of drugs, the General Administration of the People's Republic of China has sampled some Chinese herbal drinks produced, operated or used by the relevant units in four provinces of Anhui, Gansu, Guangdong and Sichuan. A total of 397 batches of samples were sampled for the special sampling inspection. The inspection confirmed that there were 22 dyeing problems. A total of 3 varieties of safflower, corydalis, and saffron were involved. In order to protect the public's drug safety, the Chinese Herbal Pieces with dyeing problems and related production, operation and use units are now exposed.
The State Food and Drug Administration stated that it is a serious offense to stain Chinese Herbal Medicines to endanger the safety of public drug use and deceive consumers. The General Administration of Customs has instructed the relevant provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) of the Food and Drug Administration to investigate and verify the presence of dyed Chinese Herbal Pieces and related units in accordance with law.
