10 years free recovery of expired drugs

For the first time in history that Chinese companies obtained a world record in charity philanthropy, the Guinness Certifying Officer issued a certificate to Guangzhou Baiyun Mountain.

On the 16th, Guangyue Pharmaceutical Baiyunshan was the world's first and officially launched on March 13, 2005. The “Family Expired Drug Recovery Mechanism” ushered in its tenth anniversary, setting a Guinness World Record as “the world’s largest family expired medicine recycling public welfare activity”.

At the certification ceremony held yesterday, Guinness Certified Legal Officer Lisa announced: “Guangzhou Baiyunshan Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd. collected a total of 1072.6 kg of expired drugs from 9 am on March 11 to 9 am on March 12. Record the most expired drugs in 24 hours! Create a new Guinness World Record!"

In the past 10 years, this public-benefit mechanism has undergone a series of innovative developments in practice and has benefited more than 500 million people. In 2013, Guangyue Pharmaceutical Baiyun Mountain has reclaimed expired drug activities and has expanded to 185 cities across the country. It has started providing on-site recycling services to widows and elderly people in designated communities. It is learnt that Guangyue Baiyun Mountain's "family expired drug free recovery mechanism" has invested tens of millions of yuan each year to recover family expired drugs. This is only a small part of the public interest of Guang Yao. Over the years, the donation of donated goods from Baiyun Mountain of Guang Yao Pharmaceutical has accumulated more than RMB 1 billion.

Yesterday, Guangyao Baiyunshan also released the White Paper on Expired Chinese Family Drugs (2004-2014), pointing out that about 78.6% of families in China have “small medicine boxes” and more than 80% of families have no habit of regular cleaning. It called for the establishment of a long-acting mechanism for the recovery of expired drugs in households and continued to expand the range of expired drug recalls for families. The site also held the launch of the Guangzhou Baiyun Mountain "family expired drug recovery box" into the community, entering schools, and entering the countryside.

Li Chuyuan, chairman of GPHL, solemnly promised at the event that the “family expired drug free recovery” will be implemented as the company’s basic policy, so that the medicine of Baiyun Mountain will never “expire” and hopes that more pharmaceutical companies will participate in it.
