The Netherlands successfully developed implantable medical equipment to relieve rheumatic pain

According to the Qatar Al Jazeera website, Dutch researchers have shown that they have developed medical devices that can be implanted under the skin of the neck, which will replace the drugs to achieve a corresponding effect, relieve arthritis pain and treat rheumatism.

Researchers at the Amsterdam Medical Center said that some preliminary tests have shown that the device has largely changed the lives of patients and relieved rheumatic pain that patients can't bear. In fact, rheumatism can invade human joints, bones and cells and is an autoimmune disease.

The researchers said the device can be implanted under the neck skin and no more than a metal coin. It can change the signal transmission speed of the human nervous system and alleviate various inflammations.

In addition, the researchers also pointed out that the device can stimulate the vagus nerve that dominates most organs of the human body, and plays an important role in human breathing and heartbeat.

Electric pulse

The device sends a continuous electrical pulse to the nervous system to stimulate the vagus nerve, affecting the nervous system, changing its signal transmission speed to some extent, and balancing human hormone levels. In addition, the device allows patients to be protected from the pain without taking medication.

At the same time, the electrical impulses sent by the device can also alter the commands that the vagus nerve sends to the heart, as well as compounds that are associated with a variety of inflammatory and immune responses.

The device includes a controller placed under the clavicle that is attached to the device placed behind the neck and the vagus nerve. The controller is a magnetic key that the patient can use to activate the device once a day.

Paul Peter, a professor at the Amsterdam Medical Center research team, said that we have been pleased to see that many patients who have tried several treatments without improvement have improved their condition after using the device.

Implant

Twenty patients have voluntarily accepted the implantation of this medical device, and doctors hope that the device will be widely used in the medical field in the next few years. Even though the reason for the apparent improvement in many people's condition is not clear at the moment, it has to be acknowledged that more than half of the patients claim that their illness has actually been alleviated.

Monica Karpur is a patient who volunteered to receive the device. She admitted that when the doctor implanted the device into her body a year ago, she suffered enormously, even if she walked in the room. But now she no longer needs to rely on drugs to maintain health, the pain in the lesions quickly disappears completely, she eventually lived a normal life, and these only happened 6 weeks after implanting the device, now she can ride Bicycles, walking with pet dogs, driving cars, and participating in various activities.

GlaxoSmithKline Global Pharmaceuticals has further developed the medical device and is expected to successfully develop rice-sized smart medical devices in the future.

The researchers also said that the device is expected to treat asthma, a balanced diet, treat obesity in the future, and may even assist the body to produce insulin needed by diabetics to improve their condition.
