Reflexion, which offers interactive physiotherapy, received $18 million in Series B financing

Headquartered in San Diego, Reflexion Health has grafted its physiotherapy training program to Microsoft's somatosensory gaming device Kinect. Borrow the Windows operating system and let the user perform physical therapy like playing a game. It has changed the way traditional medical treatments provide patients with meaningful, patient-centred services.

According to mobihealth, the company recently received $18 million in Series B financing, and the specific investors have not disclosed it. Previously, Reflexion received $4.25 million in seed financing in October 2012 and a $7.5 million Series A financing in March 2014. The two investors were West Health Investment Fund. Three successful financings have brought the total financing amount to nearly $30 million.

The company said that the newly-funded funds will be used mainly in three areas: further improving the product - Vera, to play its clinical value; to expand digital medical products; to enter the US health care system and expand the market. Currently, Vera has received FDA market access permits.

“We are delighted to be FDA-approved as a member of the Digital Healthcare family and are allowed to use innovative products and methods like Vera to serve our users. Vera allows us to interact more deeply with patients and more efficiently. We will continue to discover the positive effects of Vera on patients and doctors, and benefit more users,” said Joe Smith, CEO of Reflexion.
