There have been a lot of new technologies that can quantify health, but most of them are far from "fun". But insurance giant Cigna and Microsoft are uniting to change this, using Microsoft HoloLens' VR and AR technologies to make the health census more gamified.
They will introduce a new digital health device called BioBall, a handheld electric sphere for measuring vital vital signs, paired with a VR helmet to guide users through interactive games. The indicators that can be measured in real time in the game are blood pressure, body mass index, movement and speed. Before the game, the trainee from Cigna will measure the player's blood pressure first, then the player will use BioBall to play a competitive game for a minute or so. During this process, the ball will sense the player's pulse and respond with reflected light. After the game is over, the player will see the individual's physical indicators in his VR helmet display and will allow the device to send health promotion suggestions to the mailbox. This is also the first time Microsoft HoloLens has used its technology for health screening.

Preventive health and education, pay attention to four physical indicators
This new product is part of the innovative project of the “G. Know. Take Control†by Cigna Insurance. The “Go. Know. Take Control†project was launched to encourage people to understand the four health indicators: blood pressure, body mass index, blood sugar, and cholesterol. According to a three-year health study published by Cigna in 2014, these four indicators are the cause of most preventable chronic diseases. The 200,000-participating study showed that indicators of indicators for people with chronic conditions are often unsatisfactory and have more medical costs. Cigna believes that if more consumers can be educated on preventive health, the corresponding result is to help them healthier and save more money, and it is also an auxiliary profit for insurers.
"Microsoft's technology provides a new way of health education that allows people to understand their metrics while playing games, see how their blood pressure and body mass index change over time, and form a health concern. The awareness of the situation," said Cigna's chief brand officer Stephen Cassell.
