It is EndoPicasso of Shenzhen Luobo Medical Technology Co., Ltd., an ESD (endoscopic submucosal dissection) assisted operation robot.
ESD surgery robot

ESD operation steps
Rob Medical is the vice president unit of the National Digestive Tract Early Cancer Center and the only surgical robot company among the Alliance members. EndoPicasso is China's first ESD digestive endoscopic robot project with the following advantages: it does not change the traditional endoscopic structure, does not change the doctor's operating habits, and has universal applicability to traditional endoscopy.
Broad application prospects
Among the cancer patients in China, digestive tract cancer has the characteristics of “high prevalence, high incidence, and high mortalityâ€. The annual incidence of gastric cancer, esophageal cancer and colorectal cancer is about 1.5 million, and the number of deaths is about 1 million. New cases and deaths of gastric cancer in China account for 42.6% and 45% of the world.
The direct consequence of the “three highs†of digestive tract cancer is that the cost of treatment is huge and the social burden is serious: the cost of colorectal cancer treatment is 40 billion yuan, the stomach cancer is 15 billion yuan, and the esophageal cancer is 5-7 billion yuan, plus other The total cost is about 180 billion yuan.
The low rate of early detection of digestive tract tumors is a stumbling block to prolong the survival of patients.
Compared with advanced gastrointestinal tumors, the early 5-year survival rate of standardized gastrointestinal cancer treatment is higher, about 90%.
Taking gastric cancer as an example, the 5-year survival rate of early gastric cancer can reach more than 70% in Europe and the United States, up to 90% in countries such as Japan and South Korea, and the 5-year survival rate of advanced gastric cancer is less than 10%.
Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) can be used for endoscopic resection of early tumors in the digestive tract, expanding the indications for endoscopic resection, with minimal trauma, no surgical incision on the surface, and rapid recovery after surgery.
Regrettably, there are only a few hundred qualified physicians who can perform ESD surgery in China, and the demand is expected to reach 500,000 by 2020, which is in short supply.
In traditional ESD surgery, there is a single instrument operation, which takes a long time and is prone to complications, such as perforation. At the same time, traditional surgery has high technical requirements for physicians, which limits the promotion of ESD surgery in primary care.
This gives the next generation of devices, such as EndoPicasso, a vast space.
