Root rot is mainly harmful to the underground stalk of yam. The stem is damaged first with water-stained small spots or yellow-brown necrosis, which gradually develop into dark brown lesions. The disease develops rapidly during the hot and rainy season, and the internal rot of the stem occurs. Sometimes the surface of the diseased part produces white to pink mildew, the leaf color of the diseased plant is abnormal, the veins are chlorotic or the leaf margin is necrotic, and the infected tubers are easily rotted when stored. This year, it is expected that there will be more rainfall in the late July to mid-August, which is more suitable for the occurrence of root rot disease.
