Cracking of the celery petiole mainly manifests in the cracking of the base of the stalk along with the petiole. There are two reasons for cracking. First, it is caused by boron deficiency; second, it is caused by growth obstruction under low temperature and drought conditions, or sudden high temperature and high humidity, excessive water absorption of the plants, resulting in rapid water filling of the tissues and cracking.
Control methods: When holding the ground, use 1 kg of boron per mu, and mix well with the fertilizer as a base fertilizer to prevent cracking due to lack of boron; spray sprockets or boron-containing foliar fertilizer to control celery cleft stalks. Also must be uniform when watering.
