After analysis, the researchers discovered the temporal and spatial patterns of hematopoietic stem cell homing and "hot spots", combined with fine imaging and three-dimensional reconstruction techniques, for the first time revealed the unique microvascular structure of the hematopoietic stem cell homing microenvironment.
During the research, the research team also accidentally discovered a brand new microenvironment cell and named it "leading cell." These cells are a previously undefined macrophage new subtype that exists near the homing "hot spot" and recognizes hematopoietic stem cells that enter hematopoietic tissue and introduces them into specific vascular structures.
